I wanted to write this little text for my princess, our daughter, who has passed a milestone: she turned 12 on May 19, and she is changing/growing and makes us very proud every day!!š„°š„°š„°š„°š„°š„°š„°š„°š„°š„°š„°š„°
This particular day also takes us back to the past: I still remember that day when after a difficult day of āinduced labourā and a semi-emergency C-section, I met the eyes of this little baby, so small and so fragile! But the connection was made š.
It took me some time to create our āmother-daughterā bond ššwith these first days in neonatology. We had to tame each other, discover each other under the staffās eyes, with all the medical equipment!⦠Once back home, we were able to really learn to get to know each other, and I became a mom at that moment!āš„°š„°š„°š„°. The most beautiful and intense role of my life: I learned to be a mom with my princess!
And then the years passed, and we learned together to grow up, to get old (for me š)⦠Now āyou are 12ā!!! Time fliesā¦Itās those days that we realize it: we still see our princess laying on my husbandās forearm at the neonatal! Today, she is a 12-year-old who is convinced she is right often š¤Ŗšand is growing up and opening up to the world!āŗļøāŗļø
These days also allow us to realize how far weāve come: my little girl was a little wild girl and had trouble relating to others, understanding the feelings of others⦠And now She becomes a girl who cares about others, a little less stressed about interacting!!! I canāt thank you enough:
⢠NARDJĆS, who helped us discover our princessās peculiarities and understand her better, who helps her and us to grow up as serenely as possible and best equipped for this sometimes complicated neurotypical world š
⢠KARINE, who has done, here in Canada, extraordinary behavioural work to allow my princess to better understand herself, better apprehend stressful situations for her! She taught her that behaviours have consequences, how to relax and manage her emotionsā¦
A HUGE THANK YOU TO BOTH OF YOU: without you, she wouldnāt be here and neither would we!!!! š„°š„°š„°š„°
I am so proud (my husband and his brother too!) of my big aspergirl who has evolved and continues to surprise us: she allows herself to feel emotions, she projects herself into the future, she is full of life, of joy even if some moments ( death of my daddy, moving to another country, school changesā¦) have been intense! She is interested in many different topics ( nature, ecology, politics, drawingsā¦.). She is very respectful of difference, no matter what it is!!! ā¤ļøš§”ššššš¤š¤
I admire her so much: such goodness and kindness !!!! Even if, of course, she got her temper and teenage is not so easy: as she says, āGrowing up is not easy: my body grows faster than my head!ā
To finish, I will send her this message š„°:
āI love you infinitely, you made me a mom, and I am so lucky to be your mother and to accompany you in your everyday life, in the little and big moments!!!
Never forget that you are a wonderful girl/woman just the way you are: those who will be part of your life will be so lucky!!!!
I am super proud of you: trust in yourself, you will succeed in whatever you choose to achieve!!! Dad, me, and your brother will always be there to support you and your choices! ā
Another very HAPPY BIRTHDAY, my big 12-year-old princess šššššš
And you, are there any birthdays that have trouble you more than others?š
1ā¦2ā¦3⦠Letās share!!!!šššš
